Microsoft has addressed the bug that unintentionally uninstalled Copilot from Windows PCs with the March 11th update. Affected PCs are being restored to their original state, bringing back the AI assistant for users who lost it. This resolves the issue initially reported by The Verge and acknowledged by Microsoft on its Support page.
The bug affected Windows PCs running KB5053598 on Windows 11 versions 24H2, 23H2, and 22H2, as well as Windows 10 versions 22H2 and 21H2. Previously, Microsoft advised users experiencing the problem to reinstall the Copilot app and manually pin it to the taskbar. The company clarified that the Microsoft 365 Copilot app was not affected by this issue.
