The Nvidia RTX 5060, poised to be a mainstream gaming graphics card, is almost here. Nvidia has officially announced the release date and price, generating excitement among PC gamers. But will the suggested retail price hold up against market pressures?
Nvidia’s website confirms the RTX 5060’s launch on May 19, with a starting price of $299. This matches the MSRP of the previous generation RTX 4060. However, this price point doesn’t guarantee affordability. Nvidia’s partners often add premiums for models with enhanced clock speeds or cooling solutions. Furthermore, retailers might inflate prices based on market demand, which is currently tight.
While Nvidia hasn’t released full specifications, leaks suggest a potential configuration. It’s important to note that these are unconfirmed and could change.

The RTX 5060 is rumored to feature the GB206 GPU, with 3,840 CUDA cores and a 128-bit memory bus. Similar to the RTX 5060 Ti, it’s expected to come with 8GB of VRAM. Despite the seemingly limited memory interface, the upgrade to GDDR7 RAM should significantly boost bandwidth, potentially reaching 448GB/s.
Predicting the performance jump is challenging. Nvidia claims over 100 frames per second (fps) in popular games, likely achievable with DLSS 4, particularly for less demanding titles.
With AMD’s RX 9060 XT rumored to launch just two days later on May 21, the competition in the mainstream GPU market is intensifying. Hopefully, supply will meet the anticipated demand.
